MitoPrime (NAD+ + MOTS-c + 5-Amino-1MQ)
Also searched as: mitoprime, mito prime, mitoprime 120, mitoprime 120mg, mitoprime blend
A ready-mixed injectable vial sold online for energy, fat loss and ageing: 100mg NAD+, 10mg MOTS-c and 10mg 5-Amino-1MQ (120mg in total). Only MOTS-c is a peptide. NAD+ is Grade C, but its human evidence is mostly for vitamin pills that raise NAD+, not injections. MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ are Grade D, so the blend is only as proven as its weakest members.
In plain English
Why people buy it
People buy it for more energy, fat loss and to slow ageing.
What we actually know
- •It mixes three products in one bottle: NAD+, MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ. Most of it is NAD+.
- •Only MOTS-c is a peptide. NAD+ is a natural chemical in your cells, and 5-Amino-1MQ is a small man-made chemical.
- •Pills that the body turns into NAD+ do raise NAD+ levels. Injected NAD+ is barely studied, and is broken down quickly.
- •MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ have only helped in mice. The three together have never been tested in anyone, and none is a licensed UK medicine.
What might happen
- •Maybe nothing you would notice. The fat-loss and ageing claims come from mice.
- •Nobody knows the long-term risks of injecting these, alone or mixed.
- •NAD+ drips often cause chest pressure, flushing, feeling sick or stomach cramps.
- •Some worry that raising NAD+ could feed some cancers. This is a theory, not proven.
- •It is sold online as 'not for human use'. Nobody checks what is in the bottle, or if it is clean.
- •MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ are both banned in sport at all times.
Bottom line
Three unproven ingredients in one bottle, and two of them are not even peptides.

Mixed evidence: the weakest link is Grade D — animal data only.
Stacking peptides doesn't combine their evidence — it combines their unknowns. A stack is only as proven as its members.
01 — What is it?
MitoPrime is not a single drug. It is a pre-mixed powder vial of three ingredients you could otherwise buy separately: NAD+ (100mg), MOTS-c (10mg) and 5-Amino-1MQ (10mg), 120mg in total. Several sellers sell the same mix, some as "MitoPrime" and some simply as an NAD+ / MOTS-c / 5-Amino-1MQ blend. Despite being sold by peptide shops, only MOTS-c is a peptide: NAD+ is a coenzyme your cells already make, and 5-Amino-1MQ is a small lab-made molecule that blocks an enzyme called NNMT. It is labelled for research use only and passed around as an injectable energy and metabolism shot. Because the amounts are fixed, every draw is mostly NAD+.
02 — Why it's hyped
The sales story is "the mitochondria stack". NAD+ is the famous anti-ageing molecule from wellness drips. MOTS-c is the peptide your mitochondria release during exercise, pitched as "exercise in a bottle". 5-Amino-1MQ is sold as a fat-cell metabolism switch that also helps preserve NAD+. Put together, the blend promises more energy, fat loss and slower ageing from one vial.
03 — The honest take
The best human evidence in this vial is that NAD+ precursor pills reliably raise NAD+ levels and seem safe for months. That is not the same as feeling better or ageing more slowly, and it is not evidence for injected NAD+, which is barely studied and largely broken down before it reaches tissues. MOTS-c has only been measured in human blood; the first trial giving it to people has not reported. 5-Amino-1MQ has never been tested in humans at all. Nobody has tested the three together. Mixing them adds unknowns, including the theoretical concern that boosting NAD+ or altering NNMT could affect cancer biology. None of that proves it does nothing. It means nobody has shown it works, or that it is safe, in people.
04 — What's actually in it
Longevity
NAD+
A coenzyme your cells already make and use for energy and DNA repair; levels fall with age, so people take it (or its precursors) hoping to turn back the clock, but the human anti-ageing evidence is thin.
Grade C · Some human data, far from settled.
Read entryLongevity
MOTS-c
A tiny peptide your own mitochondria produce during exercise, promising for metabolism in mice, but in humans only measured as a biomarker rather than proven to work as an injected drug.
Grade D · No meaningful human evidence yet.
Read entryWeight & Metabolic
5-Amino-1MQ
A lab-made small molecule that blocks an enzyme (NNMT) to nudge fat tissue toward burning rather than storing energy — convincing in obese mice, completely untested in people.
Grade D · No meaningful human evidence yet.
Read entry05 — Is it legal in the UK?
None of the three is a licensed medicine in the UK. NAD+ can only be supplied legally for a medical purpose as an unlicensed "special" on a prescription; MOTS-c and 5-Amino-1MQ cannot legally be sold for human use. Blends like this are sold as unlicensed "research chemicals" with no MHRA check on what is in the vial, its purity or its sterility. NAD+ is not on the WADA list, but MOTS-c is named under S4.4.1 (metabolic modulators) and 5-Amino-1MQ is prohibited under S0 (non-approved substances), so a tested athlete using this blend risks a ban.
